Comparison of water vapour analysis increments derived from different data sources

The E-GVAP database ( provides a large source of GNSS zenith total delay data from many processing centers. Analysis increments for water vapour can be computed from these data, using prior model output and background covariance model. Alternatively, analysis increments for water vapour can be derived from radar reflectivities. We compare these for selected episodes and evaluate against observations. The simulations have been done using the WRF model, WRFDA assimilation package and additional software.
